FANLESS 란

전자부품에서 Fanless는 팬이 없는 디자인을 의미합니다. 일반적으로 컴퓨터 하드웨어나 전자 기기에서 팬은 열을 효과적으로 방출하고 기기의 내부 온도를 유지하는데 사용됩니다. 하지만 팬은 소음을 발생시키고 먼지와 같은 미립자들을 끌어들이므로 일부 상황에서는 원하지 않는 부작용이 될 수 있습니다.

Fanless 디자인은 이러한 팬의 단점을 피하기 위해 개발되었습니다. Fanless 기기는 열을 더 효율적으로 방출하는 다른 방법을 사용하거나 저전력의 구성 요소를 활용하여 열을 최소화합니다. 일반적인 방법으로는 팬 대신에 열 이동을 돕는 히트 싱크, 열 파이프, 복합 재질의 케이스, 동작 소음이 적은 프로세서 등을 사용합니다.

Fanless 디자인은 주로 노트북, 태블릿 컴퓨터, 미니 PC 등 작은 크기의 기기에서 주로 사용됩니다. 또한 산업용 컴퓨터, 임베디드 시스템, IoT 디바이스 등에서도 사용되며, 이러한 기기들은 소음, 먼지, 진동 등과 같은 문제가 최소화되어야 하는 환경에서 사용됩니다.

Fanless 기기의 장점은 더 적은 소음과 더 긴 수명, 더 적은 먼지 유입으로 인한 내구성이 향상되며, 특히 소형 기기나 산업용 어플리케이션에서 높은 환경 안정성을 제공하는 데 도움이 됩니다. 단점은 열 관리가 중요하며, 일부 고성능 애플리케이션에서는 팬을 사용하는 디자인보다 열 문제를 해결하는데 더 많은 주의가 필요할 수 있습니다.
