This is a surface mounted

component and can only be

soldered to the pcb (i.e., not

used on the bread board).

This is not a polarized

component.

This component is polarized.

One pin is longer than the

other. The longer pin is the

positive side. The top label

also indicates this side with a

small plus sign.

board). The reason for this is

that the pins are too short to

get reliable connection on
