Bridged amplifiers

A bridged amplifier uses two identical amplifiers driven 180° out of phase. The circuit shown

in Figure 12 uses two single supply amplifiers, AX. These would each be comparable to the

amplifier of Figure 7.

The input signal is connected unchanged to the left amplifier and inverted prior to going to

the right amplifier thus making the right one 180° out of phase with the left.

The outputs of the two amps, VL+ and VL–, are each biased at VDD/2. Thus, the quiescent

difference between them is 0 V. Therefore, no DC blocking capacitor is required at the load.
