14 / 55 page  Functional description STw8009/STw8019 14/55 Figure 11. 1.9 MHz chroma filter 4.8 Composite video signal generation The composite video signal is created by adding the luminance and the chrominance components. A saturation function is included in the adder to avoid overflow errors. 4.9 MacrovisionTM copy protection STw8019 provides MacrovisionTM copy protection rev 7.1.L1 feature. 4.10 TV/VCR plug insertion detection Plugdet ball is used to detect the connection of a TV or a VCR. The host can read the status in a dedicated register in standby and active modes. 4.11 DAC STw8009/STw8019 outputs generate Composite video signal on one output or Y/C video signals on two outputs. Two embedded 10-bit DACs allow the STw8009/STw8019 to directly drive 37.5 Ohms loads on each output. 4.12 Power management Power management includes power supplies, reset signals, clock gating and a set of dedicated pins and registers.
