Optional LC Filter
An optional LC filter may be added
between the antenna and the matching
network in certain applications. The filter
will reduce the emission of harmonics.
A Pi-type filter topology is shown in Figure
17. Component values are given in Table
5. The filter is designed for 50
Ω
terminations. The component values may
have to be tuned to compensate for layout
parasitics.
A T-Type LC filter can be used to further
attenuate harmonics if the Pi-type filter is
not sufficient. A T-type filter provides much
better stop-band attenuation than a Pi-
type filter due to improved insulation
between input and output. For more
details refer to Application Note AN028 LC
