Product data sheet Rev. 4 — 8 April 2015 46 of 107 NXP Semiconductors PCA2117 Automotive LCD driver for character displays It is important to match the module properties to those of the driver in order to achieve optimum performance. 8.4.7 LCD drive mode waveforms The PCA2117 contains 18 row and 100 column drivers, which drive the appropriate LCD bias voltages in sequence to the display and in accordance with the data to be displayed. R16 and R17 drive the icon rows. Unused outputs should be left open. The bias voltages and the timing are automatically selected when the number of lines in the display is selected.
