63 / 224 page  Rev. 1.00 �� De�e��e� �1� �01� Rev. 1.00 �3 De�e��e� �1� �01� HT66F4530/HT66F4540/HT66F4550 A/D Flash MCU with Dual Operational Amplifiers HT66F4530/HT66F4540/HT66F4550 A/D Flash MCU with Dual Operational Amplifiers Standby Current Considerations AsthemainreasonforenteringtheSLEEPorIDLEModeistokeepthecurrentconsumptionof thesedevicestoaslowavalueaspossible,perhapsonlyintheorderofseveralmicro-ampsexcept intheIDLE1andIDLE2Mode,thereareotherconsiderationswhichmustalsobetakenintoaccount bythecircuitdesignerifthepowerconsumptionistobeminimised.Specialattentionmustbemade totheI/Opinsonthesedevices.Allhigh-impedanceinputpinsmustbeconnectedtoeitherafixed highorlowlevelasanyfloatinginputpinscouldcreateinternaloscillationsandresultinincreased currentconsumption.Thisalsoappliestothesedeviceswhichhavedifferentpackagetypes,asthere maybeunbondedpins.Thesemusteitherbesetupasoutputsorifsetupasinputsmusthavepull- highresistorsconnected. Caremustalsobetakenwiththeloads,whichareconnectedtoI/Opins,whicharesetupasoutputs. Theseshouldbeplacedinaconditioninwhichminimumcurrentisdrawnorconnectedonlyto externalcircuitsthatdonotdrawcurrent,suchasotherCMOSinputs.Alsonotethatadditional standbycurrentwillalsoberequirediftheLXTorLIRCoscillatorhasenabled. IntheIDLE1andIDLE2Modethehighspeedoscillatorison,iftheperipheralfunctionclock sourceisderivedfromthehighspeedoscillator,theadditionalstandbycurrentwillalsobeperhaps intheorderofseveralhundredmicro-amps. Wake-up TominimisepowerconsumptionthesedevicescanentertheSLEEPoranyIDLEMode,wherethe CPUwillbeswitchedoff.However,whenthesedevicesarewokenupagain,itwilltakeaconsiderable timefortheoriginalsystemoscillatortorestart,stabiliseandallownormaloperationtoresume. AfterthesystementerstheSLEEPorIDLEMode,itcanbewokenupfromoneofvarioussources listedasfollows: • AnexternalRESpinreset • AnexternalfallingedgeonPortA • Asysteminterrupt • AWDToverflow IfthesystemiswokenupbyanexternalRESpinreset,thesedeviceswillexperienceafullsystem reset,however,ifthesedevicesarewokenupbyaWDToverflow,aWatchdogTimerresetwillbe initiated.Althoughbothofthesewake-upmethodswillinitiatearesetoperation,theactualsource ofthewake-upcanbedeterminedbyexaminingtheTOandPDFflags.ThePDFflagisclearedbya systempower-uporexecutingtheclearWatchdogTimerinstructionsandissetwhenexecutingthe "HALT"instruction.TheTOflagissetifaWDTtime-outoccurs,andcausesawake-upthatonly resetstheProgramCounterandStackPointer,theotherflagsremainintheiroriginalstatus. EachpinonPortAcanbesetupusingthePAWUregistertopermitanegativetransitiononthe pintowake-upthesystem.Whenapinwake-upoccurs,theprogramwillresumeexecutionatthe instructionfollowingthe"HALT"instruction.Ifthesystemiswokenupbyaninterrupt,thentwo possiblesituationsmayoccur.Thefirstiswheretherelatedinterruptisdisabledortheinterrupt isenabledbutthestackisfull,inwhichcasetheprogramwillresumeexecutionattheinstruction followingthe"HALT"instruction.Inthissituation,theinterruptwhichwoke-upthesedeviceswill notbeimmediatelyserviced,butwillratherbeservicedlaterwhentherelatedinterruptisfinally enabledorwhenastacklevelbecomesfree.Theothersituationiswheretherelatedinterruptis enabledandthestackisnotfull,inwhichcasetheregularinterruptresponsetakesplace.Ifan interruptrequestflagissethighbeforeenteringtheSLEEPorIDLEMode,thewake-upfunctionof therelatedinterruptwillbedisabled. |
