48 / 82 page  Diagnostic FDA903D 48/82 DocID031502 Rev 2 11.10 Watch-dog The user can enable an internal watch-dog, setting I2C IB9[4]='1'. The function is based on a timer which is reset at each Word Select line rising edge, and which reaches the timeout in: 2.9 ms if fs = 44.1 kHz; 2.7 ms if fs = 48 kHz, 96 kHz, 192 kHz. When the timer reaches the timeout, the function performs two operations: Sends a muting command to the amplifier Sets a flag on DB6[2] In case of timeout, the muting command is released as soon as the timer is reset by a new Word Select line edge. 11.11 Error frame check The device integrates a function called "Error frame check", which is permanently enabled. The function counts the number of rising edges received on the Clock line, starting from each rising edge of Word Select line. At the end of the data frame, marked by the subsequent rising edge on Word Select line, the function checks that the reached count is coherent with the I2C configuration of the I2S protocol. In case the function detects an error, the device sets a flag on DB6[1]. |
