86 / 163 page  Philips Semiconductors Product Specification Rev. 3.0; May 2003 Multiple Protocol Contactless Reader IC CL RC632 86 Confidential 9 TIMER UNIT 9.1 Overview A timer is implemented in the CL RC632. It derives its clock from the 13.56 MHz chip-clock. The µ-Processor may use this timer to manage timing relevant tasks. The timer unit may be used in one of the following configurations: • Timeout-Counter • Watch-Dog Counter • Stop Watch • Programmable One-Shot • Periodical Trigger The timer unit can be used to measure the time interval between two events or to indicate that a specific event occurred after a specific time. The timer can be triggered by events which will be explained in the following, but the timer itself does not influence any internal event (e.g. A timeout during data receiving does not influence the receiving process automatically). Furthermore, several timer related flags are set and these flags can be used to generate an interrupt. |
