Non-Isolated, Step-Down Quasi-Resonant LED Power Switch
When Tdem<Tovp, the system will trigger the output
overvoltage protection. When designing the
system, the required ROVP resistor value can be
calculated based on the required overvoltage
protection voltage (VOVP):

Automatic restart protection
When the LED is open circuit or the output is overvoltage,
the circuit enters the automatic restart mode. At this time,
the internal power MOSFET stops conducting and the
internal timer starts working. When the timer counts to
16ms, the chip will reset the protection logic and enter the
restart mode. However, if the fault does not disappear after
the restart, the chip will repeat the above protection actions
until the fault disappears.
Over temperature protection (OTP)
DP950XB has an internal overheat protection function.
When the chip detects that the junction temperature exceeds
145℃, the internal output current reference begins to
gradually decrease until the temperature reaches equilibrium,
as shown in Figure 1. The overheat protection function
limits the maximum temperature of the system and improves
the reliability of the system.
