Port A Wake-up TheHALTinstructionforcesthemicrocontrollerintotheSLEEPorIDLEModewhichpreserves power,afeaturethatisimportantforbatteryandotherlow-powerapplications.Variousmethods existtowake-upthemicrocontroller,oneofwhichistochangethelogicconditionononeofthePort Apinsfromhightolow.Thisfunctionisespeciallysuitableforapplicationsthatcanbewokenup viaexternalswitches.EachpinonPortAcanbeselectedindividuallytohavethiswake-upfeature usingthePAWUregister. Pin-shared Functions Theflexibilityofthemicrocontrollerrangeisgreatlyenhancedbytheuseofpinsthathavemore thanonefunction.Limitednumbersofpinscanforceseriousdesignconstraintsondesignersbutby supplyingpinswithmulti-functions,manyofthesedifficultiescanbeovercome.Forthesepins,the chosenfunctionofthemulti-functionI/Opinsisselectedbyaseriesofregistersviatheapplication programcontrol. |
