97 / 145 page  June 11, 1997 GENERAL RELEASE SPECIFICATION MC68HC05CL48 LCD DRIVER MOTOROLA REV 2.0 12-1 SECTION 12 LCD DRIVER The LCD driver module supports a 45 frontplanes by 16 backplanes or a 53 frontplanes by 8 backplanes display. This allows a maximum of 720 LCD segments to be driven. Each segment is controlled by a corresponding bit in the LCD RAM. On reset or on power-up, the drivers are disabled via a Display on (DISON) bit in the LCD Control (LCDCTR) register. Figure 12-1 shows a block diagram of the LCD subsystem. Figure 12-1.
