9.2.2. VOL/R output

The VOL/R pin is an output port used to charge the headset. On this port, the DIO59618A integrates the

functions of automatic load identification, automatic headphone recharge, output current limiting, and light

load detection. The two ports of VOL and VOR can be controlled independently. In the standby mode, the

automatic load recognition function is enabled. When the load is loaded, if the load current is greater than

the automatic load recognition current, the internal circuit detects the load and generates VOR_IN and

VOL_IN signals.

VOL/R output supports output current detection, which is used for output current limiting protection and light

load detection. The output current limiting value register can be configured. When the output current

exceeds the current limiting value, the DIO59618A triggers the overcurrent protection function and the IRQ

interrupt. When the charging current of the earphone is less than the IOFF (register adjustable, initial setting

3 mA, 5 mA), the DIO59618A sends an interrupt signal to notify the MCU, and the MCU decides whether to

turn off the output.

The VOL/R port supports communication function. In communication mode, the DIO59618A supports

two-way communication between COML/COMR and VOL/R.
